It already has impacted my past and present. Let's take one simple example: the iPhone. If you had told me 10 years ago that anyone, let alone Apple would come up with a ipod(what's that?)/phone/gaming/application/GPS/web surfing/email etc. device for any amount of money, I would have laughed at you.
